The Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-sized SUV. It is powerful enough to handle the rugged road, with an interior that will make drivers and passengers feel as comfortable as if they were at home. The Tahoe easily goes from work to play with all the amenities you could possibly need for each.
The Tahoe is assembled in a few different places. In the United States, they are assembled in Janesville, Wisconsin and Arlington, Texas. Outside the U.S., it is assembled in Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. Credentials for the Tahoe include 21 mpg highway and 15 mpg city. It has a maximum towing capacity of 8,500 lbs. Tahoes have 6-cylinder automatic transmissions. It has 320 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 335 torque at 4,000 rpm. It has seating for up to nine and 108.9 cubic feet of cargo space.
The predecessor to the Tahoe was the K5 Blazer, which was introduced in 1969. It was the smallest full-size SUV in the General Motors Family. It was a short wheelbase truck with front engine and four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. From 1973-1991, the majority of the Blazers sold were four-wheel drive. After 1975, there was no convertible option, and from 1976 to 1991, a half-cab design was used. Two-door Tahoes were available until 1999. The K5 Blazer was very popular in the off-roading scene.
Power winder, power steering, rear-seat audio controls, vehicle anti-theft system, all-around air bags, and a three-month trial to XM Satellite Radio are standard on all models. Other options are available or even standard, depending on the model. These include rear parking assists, navigation system, sliding sunroof, front and rear bucket seats, heated seats, and a premium sound system. On the exterior, remote keyless entry, heated mirrors, power driver-side mirror, and front all-side tires are included. Options that are possibly available or standard on some models include off-road tires, front and rear-performance tires, chrome wheels, and fog lamps.
Even the experts are impressed with the Chevrolet Tahoe, which has received several rewards. It won the 2010 Editors Choice Award" in the Large SUV category from Car and Driver magazine. It also won the IntelliChoice "2010 SmartChoice Lowest Fuel Cost Award" in the category of Full-Size SUV, 2WD Hybrid, 4WD Hybrid.
