Another beautiful day in NorCal set the stage for racing at Sonoma Raceway. The final round for the Pirelli World Challenge Race series is here at Raceway in Sonoma and is the setting for the last battle to secure the driver’s and manufacturer’s championship. A new track layout also provides more opportunities for passing.

Alex Figge (GT class) picked up his first Pirelli World Challenge Championships pole position of the 2012 season. Figge scored the pole position for K-Pax Racing with a lap at 1:35.220 (90.170 mph) in the No. 9 K-Pax Volvo S60.

Jack Baldwin (GTS class) earned his first World Challenge pole ever during Friday’s qualifying sessions ahead of the season-ending Cadillac Grand Prix of Sonoma on Satuday. He drove the No. 68 Team Hot Wheels/Invoice Prep Porsche Cayman S to a best lap of 1:43.127 (83.257 mph) to score the GTS pole position.
