eBay Listing: 1962 Ford Falcon

Classics  /   /  By Jim Pickering

It’s pretty rare to find a Ford Falcon restored to a high level. Especially one that retains its original engine, transmission, and brake configuration.

But that’s just what this car is – a 1962 Falcon that’s been completely disassembled and painstakingly restored, with only a few minor custom touches to set it apart from all the other Falcons out on the road today.

Rather than a fire-breathing small-block Ford V8, this Falcon still features its little 170-ci straight six. The seller says its been completely rebuilt within the last 2,000 miles. In addition, it has all new accessories, including the carburetor, fuel pump, and ignition components.

Coupled to that is the original 3-on-the-tree manual transmission, also completely rebuilt and fitted with a new clutch. The restoration also included a slight suspension drop to get the right stance, as well as all new original-style drum brake components.

The paint is the original color, according to the body tag, and the interior is stock-styled, too, with new seatfoam over all-new vinyl. Overall, the car looks great, and the seller says it’ll get 27 mpg out on the highway. This could be just the thing if you’re looking for a cross-country cruiser that’ll be easy to use without breaking the bank.

A total of 1,800 1960-63 Ford Falcons have sold on eBay Motors over the past three years, with prices topping out around the $10k mark. This one ought to go higher. See the listing here.

A slight suspension drop to get the “right stance”? Please. Just let the original springs sag and you’re good to go, if you like low riders.
