1949 Chevrolet Fleetline “Rosie”
Chevrolet’s Postwar-era Classics have never been short on popularity. From the Fleetmaster to the Bel Airs and Nomads, Classic Chevy’s will always be in style and desirable. Just after WWII Chevrolet’s model line styling picked up where it left off in 1941. Buoyant-looking fenders and domed tops became more streamlined, grilles and chrome trim became more abundant. Roomy Interiors, swept back contours, and a variety of accessories — this styling trend was most noticeable in the 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline. The ’49 Chevrolet Fleetline presented here was restored to “her former glory”, according to her proud owner. Mechanically, everything is stock and details are kept in their original fashion as much as possible
“…better to ask for forgiveness than permission.” Which is how powertourpacer approached his family when his prize Fleetline was brought home. Luckily, he has a forgiving family and was fully supported during the restoration process.
