The annual Consumer Electronics Show, held every year in Las Vegas, starts this week and a group from our Electronics team will be covering all the wizardry and gadgetry revealed at the show. Those of you who are familiar with CES know that this tradeshow attracts upwards of 150,000 attendees and 3,250 exhibitors filling the floor with high tech displays and expensive toys.
With more than 20,000 of gadgets and electronic devices being launched at CES, eBay Motors will show off their favorite electronics as it relates to the automotive world and highlight some over-the-top custom car audio installs.
So what is in store for CES 2013? Here are three of our expectations:
- Ford’s next wave of research and development. More Ford vehicles, such as the 2013 Ford Fusion, are becoming equipped with sensors that help driver awareness. Ford has a big announcement planned we think that it will carry a big impact on upcoming Ford vehicles and what the competition is working on for the future.
- With 7 carmakers exhibiting – Audi, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru – we expect to be wowed with new benchmarks in factory installed infotainment systems and driver safety equipment
- Toyota and Audi have already announced they plan to demonstrate their self-driving cars. Automated self-driving cars are closer to becoming a reality in your home state now that California, Nevada, and Florida have explicitly made it legal to ride in cars without a human at the wheel.
