2006 Dodge Charger SRT8

Classics  /   /  By Tony Piff

In simple terms of horsepower-per-dollar and low miles, this ’06 Charger SRT8 looks like a tremendous value. It’s has been driven just 34k miles, the 6.1-liter HEMI V8 makes 425 horsepower and you can buy it now for $21,295. And if you’re in the mood for a rear-wheel-drive American muscle car, but you need a full-size four-door, the conversation pretty much begins and ends with the Charger (with a quick nod to its stablemate the Chrysler 300).

These modern muscle cars are easy, comfortable drivers, but the HEMI absolutely thrums when you put the hammer down. You can smoke that rubber all the way down the block with traction control turned off.

Or, let the stability control, traction control and ABS do its job, and you’re far less likely to end up in a ditch. It’s a win-win.
