1975 Triumph TR6

Classics  /   /  By Chad Tyson

This 1975 Triumph TR6 is cute in a 1970s British way, and it was recently restored. Its factory Java Green paint—either garish or charming, depending on the current status of your love affair with English cars —has been reapplied after being taken down to bare metal. Rust and suspension-mount cracking consistently plague these cars, but this one appears to have led a leisurely, pampered life. A new black interior is fitted with plenty of cushion in the seats.

Many mechanical bits were recently replaced or rebuilt, including the gas tank, battery, brakes, clutch, carburetors and ignition components. Such is the condition of the car that the seller states, “I would not hesitate to jump in this car and drive to Maine.”

With over 94,600 TR6s made during the production run, current parts supply is good. Some body panels are available stamped from mostly original tooling. Not that you will need them anytime soon for this particular one.

Almost 2,200 1969-76 Triumph TR6s have sold on eBay Motors in the last three years. Good to excellent examples ranged from $11k to $18k. Click here to see the listing.
