eBay Listing: 1967 Ford Fairlane convertible

Classics  /   /  By Chad Tyson

A big block and a drop top — is there anything more you want in a full-size cruiser this summer?

The seller says this ’67 Fairlane is only a few steps away from being complete. “Only minor mechanical left to finish and the majority is cosmetic.” An air cleaner top might be high on the shopping list, judging from the pictures. The chrome trim sits in the trunk, as the seller couldn’t decide between the clean look or the stock trim. Whatever the end result, I’d leave the wire wheel covers on, as they aren’t common and set the car even further apart from the crowd.

Ford produced just 5,428 500-series convertibles in 1967, and, according to the seller, this was the only one with the 390, 4-speed and in silver. As per the VIN this is the lower-output 390-ci V8 big block — rated at 275 horsepower. The real fun is in the 405 lb-ft of peak torque. The 4-speed adds even more desirability. But add a shift boot to that shopping list as well.

In the last year, 29 1967 Ford Fairlanes sold on eBay Motors. Good examples averaged over $8k and excellent ones almost $15k. Click here to see the auction listing.

Does it have the stock steering wheel of the FMC on1967 models?

I checked the photos after I posted before. I think it has a 1965 or 66 steeling wheel style!
