1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Classics  /   /  By Chad Tyson

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is in remarkable condition. It was restored in the late ‘90s and has been documented with GM of Canada papers. It comes with nearly all of the desirable RPO codes: J52 power disc brakes, U17 gauge package and most importantly the Z28 special performance package, among others.

Just 602 Z28s were produced for 1967, compared to the 20,302 made in the extended 1969 model year. It was unmentioned in sales literature that first year, but the option offered racers a Trans Am-ready car. This package included the 302-ci V8 underrated at 290-hp, special suspension, heavy duty radiator, quick ratio steering and 3.73 gears in the rear end.

Only 100 miles have been put on the car since restoration, bringing the total to 27,800. The underside shots of the car seem to show even less wear and hardly any dirt.

In the past several years, 46 1967 Camaro Z28s have sold on eBay Motors, with the vast majority being replicas and tributes. Good to excellent examples averaged from $17k to $29k, but a similar condition, verified Z28 would be worth significantly more. Click here to see this listing.

just a short note, I have been tracking a 67 camaro that was stolen in Framingham MA in the early 80’s. It won the long distance award at the 82-83 stret machine nationals in Syrecus NY sponsored by Car Craft Magazine. I was responsible for the restoration and completion and have fact and back up to go with it. The car in question was completed to drive and go on the show circuit with lots of chrome under the hood including upper and lower control arm. One major detail is the factory traction bar on the rear end. I also planted 2 items in the car to identity the car if found.
any information on item 200721522510 from ebay would be helpful
    thanks Bob
