1955 Fiat 600 Custom

Classics  /   /  By Chad Tyson

Fiat’s 600 debuted in 1955. It was designed to seat four with room for luggage. The 600’s top speed from the factory was a stated 59 mph — and that might actually be true assuming you’re going downhill and have a tailwind. This custom example will probably hit that speed in the first three gears, and you’ll still have three cogs left.

The seller has owned the car for over ten years, but recently took to heavily customizing it. A 1000RR Honda engine was fitted in place of the anemic original 633-cc 4-cylinder. The original engine was rated around 22 hp, where the 2007 motorcycle powerplant produces 170 hp. “It’s more of a track car, but could be street driven,” states the seller. The satin blue pearl covers a trim-less body with Lexan windows. A full roll cage and tube chassis support the drivetrain.

Around 50 miles between two test runs have been put on shaking the car down, but more could be required for sorting out all the custom components. The seller mentions videos on YouTube regarding testing at the track and a walk-around. Check them out and be sure to ask the seller any questions you have regarding this little blue beast.

Less than 100 1955-69 Fiat 600s have sold on eBay Motors in the past three years. Good to excellent examples averaged from $9k to $17k, some of which were modified into racers.
