DESCRIPTION: After Tonight concludes, UK indie, Ember Records’ contribution to the beat scene; its two predecessors being Tell Me and Done Me Wrong. This release covers the years 1966 & 1967, when the beat scene was giving way to rock and psychedelia on one hand and teen-orientated pop on the other. Cover versions of both A Whiter Shade Of Pale (by Bobby Johnson & The Atoms) and The Theme From "The Monkees" (by The Peenuts) illustrate this divergence of markets. After Tonight serves up a track apiece by The Alleykatz, The Bats, Luvin Kind, Just Five, and The People (who evolved into rock group Eire Apparent and recorded an album produced by and with Jimi Hendrix). Elsewhere, styles range from the garage surf of The Clockwork Oranges to the club-friendly home-grown R&B sound of Bobby Johnson & The Atoms (whose contributions include a cover of the Otis Redding/Carla Thomas hit Tramp). Both singles by The Fadin Colours are included. The first is a cover of (Just Like) Romeo And Juliet, a US hit for The Reflections, while the second, the superior Be With Me, may never have got beyond acetate stage. Vocalist Ray Singer, later briefly a member of UK pop-psych band Nirvana, is represented by both sides of a single and a brace of album cuts. Pauls Troubles only released one single on Ember, but additional previously unissued material is included on this release. With out a doubt Ember Records wasn’t at the center of the universe, there are some duds and head scratchers among the pickens; but with an excitement quotient a slight notch below its predecessors, After Tonight remains well worth seeking out. As a collection of relatively unknown artists performing unheard music, After Tonight is — like the two earlier volumes in the series — superb.

SS or SLD: Still Sealed or Sealed. Short abbreviation that will appear in the title line of my listings. This item is new and unplayed. Also appears in the listing description as Sealed CD or Factory Sealed CD.
NEW CD: This item is new and unplayed, but was received from a supplier without being shrink wrapped or cellophane wrapped; more common on imports but also many of the smaller independent US labels do not seal their CDs; some have it both ways (for which I have no prior knowledge of or choice when placing my orders). Other companies use resealable clear outer sleeves which are used on some import and domestic releases. If I receive an item this way it will be shipped as I received it and not opened up.
All CDs that do not come in an outer packaging wrap are inspected by me prior to shipping. It is not unusual to find small imperfections in the disc, especially on European manufactured CDs; these small imperfections do no effect the play of the disc. If, for any reason, a disc does not play it is fully guaranteed by me and is returnable for refund or replacement (see my return policy below for more details). Also an unsealed jewel case may show light signs of warehouse/transit storage wear. If a jewel case is received by me broken, it will be replaced with a new jewel case before shipping.

Save On Shipping:
International customers can save on shipping by having their CD items shipped with out jewel cases (digipaks, mini-jackets, and certain multi disc jewel case sets must be shipped whole); this excludes Canada and Mexico (your rates are cheaper already). A minimum purchase of 2 CDs is required. Fees for shipping without jewel cases: 2 CDs = $6.50; for each additional disc add $1.00. CD discs are placed in CD envelopes and include all inserts which are placed inside of a plastic sleeve; all items are then placed inside of a corrugated box (the same size that I ship 7” records in, as I have had problems with bubble insulated envelopes; this box holds approximately 10 x 7” records so I am able to put packing material completely around the CD items inside the box). Shipping is via first class mail international. Please e-mail me with your request before making payment and I will send you an Ebay invoice with the correct shipping amount.

HANDLING TIME:
Packages are usually shipped in less than 72 hours. NOTE: This is not the same thing as delivery time, which begins once a package is turned over to the post office; averaging 3-7 business days for US delivery and 5 days to 3 weeks for international delivery (Italy seems to take even longer often times). International delivery is largely determined on how long it takes your local customs to process its mail. I will confirm receipt of payment and shipping date via my personal e-mail, adjust your filters accordingly. If you do not hear from me within the first three days after your payment, most likely my attempts to e-mail you have failed. Please keep me posted on your payment plans or any special requirements/needs of your purchase.
RETURN POLICY:
Please e-mail me with specific details and I will get back to you with your options. I ask that if there is a problem with the item that you contact me as soon as possible after receiving it. Any item that must be returned is done so at the buyer’s expense. Any refund (refunded to your Paypal account in US $ or via the same method as your payment), exchange, or substitution/credit will be at the buyers choice, but not made until the original item is received back by me; in the condition as stated in the item description.
NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:
US Customers: Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. Packages are not shipped with confirmation; this service is optional and available upon request at your expense, e-mail me before making payment so I can invoice you accordingly. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.
INTERNATIONAL Customers: Please wait at least 3 weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. If security is your concern please have your package registered (see above for fee). I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal systems it is beyond my control. With first class mail international my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE: Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
MULTI-ITEM PURCHASERS:
