One of VITA Digital Productions' unique Virtual Walk Series

(All photos on this page are actual still frames from the DVD.)

This new DVD has a 51 minute widescreen virtual walk from the village of Ravello down to the
coastal town of Atrani, along Italy's famous Amalfi Coast. This DVD is the perfect accessory for a
treadmill, Nordic Track, elliptical, or exercise bike. It is also the perfect gift for friends and family.

Just place it in a DVD player, step onto your treadmill, and instantly
you will be taking an unforgettable walk in an exclusive Italian hill town on the Amalfi Coast.

Ravello, overlooked by the hordes of tourists, is perched high on a hillside
and offers the best vistas on the Amalfi Coast.

For years, Ravello was the summer playground of the rich and famous.
Princess Radziwill, her sister Jacqueline Kennedy, and Gore Vidal summered here.

With a population of only 2500, Ravello is famous for its Villas Rufolo and Cimbrone,
both with magnificent gardens.

Filmed in Widescreen with High Definition* television cameras and camera stabilization equipment,
this is certainly one of our most stunningly beautiful virtual walks! The camera seems to float as it transports
you through a rather serene town often overlooked by travelers more familiar with Positano and Amalfi.

As your walk progresses, you will enjoy a bird's-eye view
of the bay below you. Only a small number of travelers to Italy will have the
opportunity to see such unparalleled natural splendor.

You are "experiencing" a walk in Ravello -
a town used as the backdrop for Wagner's well-known opera, Parsifal.

This is not a traditional travel video.
The television camera is constantly moving you forward, transporting the viewer
past entrances to mountaintop villas tucked away and clinging to the hillside.

The 51 minute walk is accompanied by the natural sounds
just as they were recorded in stereo in Italy.

Exercising has never been easier or more enjoyable!

And these videos are so rich in details
that you will notice something new every time you view them.

But you don't have to have an exercise bike or treadmill
to enjoy this DVD.

It also makes the perfect gift
for people who want to experience the Amalfi Coast in a totally unique way:
a way not possible with traditional travel videos.

What a wonderful reminder this could be of your own trip to Italy!

A Description of the Walk on this DVD

The first part of your 51 minute walk begins in Ravello's Piazza del Duomo,
featuring a thirteenth century campanile.

After crossing the piazza, and dodging a young Italian on a scooter,
a little terrier is waiting to guide you on the first part of your walk.

Your four-legged tour guide obviously knows his way around Ravello and is used to
bounding up the stone steps.

As the terrier runs ahead, you continue up the seemingly endless steps,
passing residents and hikers as they stop to admire the villas along the way.

The village, dating back to the ninth century,
was once called Rebellum since it rebelled against its larger rival, Amalfi.

The walk offers the chance to admire architectural elements
warmed by the Mediterranean sunshine.

Ravello is located in the province of Salerno,
in the region of Italy known as Campania.

The stone steps and pathways no doubt made commerce and communication easier
as far back as the Middle Ages.

And from time to time along the trail, you pass through
thickets of olive trees, freesias and cistus in the springtime.

The wild flowers you will pass along this ancient pathway are surprisingly varied:
white heather, spurge, squill, mint, and valerian - to name but a few.

Every part of this walk offers a chance to commune with nature in one of the most breathtaking regions of Italy -

sun-washed stone walls, cats resting in the shade...

and a solitude and tranquility enjoyed by few.

The village of Ravello - as all communities along la Costiera Amalfitana -
face towards the Tyhrrenian Sea.

Below you lies the town of Atrani with its campanile.
You enter the town through a tiny allyway.

So much beauty awaits in Atrani that photographers love it. Fortunately, this serene
little town is also overlooked by the majority of tourists who are just a few miles away in nearby Amalfi.

Descending more of the countless steps on your journey,
you dash quickly onto the narrow walkway beside the Amalfi highway

and pause for a moment at a shrine to Italy's beloved Padre Pio
before continuing on deeper into enchanting Atrani.

You enter into Piazza Umberto with its welcoming fountain
and outdoor cafe.

Your walk ends at a peaceful sandy beach - you have descended 1200 feet in 51 minutes
and have memories destined to remain with you for years.

And as a BONUS CHAPTER you get....

"Duet," a bonus chapter with an 8-minute featurette which takes a closer look
at both Ravello and Atrani, is also included on this DVD!

The featurette gives you time to become intimately acquainted
with the beauty of these two exquisite Italian towns.

Accompanied by light classical music, the bonus chapter can be used as a cool-down from your
exercise session, or as a beautiful stand-alone Italian travel video.

You'll take a leisurely look at some of the most scenic vistas in Ravello and Atrani.

You'll go inside Ravello's Duomo, a Renaissance church dating back to 1272.

Commissioned by Niccolo Rufolo, the ornate pulpit featuring intricate mosaics
stands atop six spiral pillars mounted on six marble couched lions.

Atrani, called the smallest village in Italy,
combines inspiring architecture with simple hospitality.

The white-washed stone staircase and the clock tower
are but two examples of Atrani's beautiful buildings.

There is a delightful enclosed piazza
where you can enjoy a lovely seaside lunch beside the medieval fountain.

PRODUCTION NOTES:

The 51 minute virtual walk is accompanied by the natural sounds (in Stereo) as they were recorded on site in Italy. The 8 minute Bonus Featurette, "Duet," is accompanied by light classical music.

PLEASE NOTE: Since this walk descends 1200 feet in 51 minutes, please note that there are countless steps found along the way. The average speed of the walk is slowed while descending down these steps. We do believe that the beauty found on this walk more than makes up for the steps encountered.
