Store Categories | Outstanding watercolor (could also have opaque oil or acrylic) on paper by well-known Israeli artist Yehuda Vardi (1933-1990). Vardi was born in Iraq, grew up in the Kibbutz Gesher, and studied art at the Art Teacher's College in Ramat Hasharon. Vardi worked as a stage designer and later gained fame for his ethereal portraits of beautiful women. He later devoted his work to celebrating and exploring the life and achievements of Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat who saved the lives of thousands of Jews in World War II. Vardi died prematurely at the age of 62. This work is an exceptional example of Vardi's style and technique. It is signed upper right and dated 1968. It measures 23.25" x 17.5" (sight size). It is in very good condition. Framed in an older frame and mat. Contact me for international shipping rates/options. Payment by PayPal (dictated by Ebay policy).
