The Sunforce Products 45446 600 Watt Marine Wind Turbine Power Generator with MPPT Charge Controller will allow you to harness the power of the wind by using a wind turbine to generate electricity. Features marine powder-coating for corrosion and rusting protection in a marine environment. The wind generator turbine is small yet versatile and can produce up to 600 Watts of output for charging both 12 Volt and 24 Volt battery banks. It is compatible with multiple battery options in today's market, including flooded lead acid, absorbed Glass mat (AGM), gel cell and NiCad; for 12-volt systems it is recommended to use batteries with 400 Amp-hours and for 24-volt systems batteries with 200 Amp-hours. It is field adjustable for 12V or 24V applications, making it ideal for backup and off-grid power. Your wind turbine is designed to operate in most climatic conditions and winds up to 150 MPH. According to engineering calculations, the bearings should have a 10-year life span in 12-16 mph (6 m/s) average wind speed sites. Bearing life will vary from one application to another; however, you should expect at least a five-year performance in adverse conditions and 10 years in normal conditions. The turbine begins to supply power in wind speeds as low as 4.5 MPH and includes overspeed protection at 1300 RPM. It also includes an MPPT charge controller that maximizes power output for optimal charging capability and battery health.
PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS: The buyer needs to determine if this turbine will work at their location, taking into consideration local windspeeds and nearby wind obstructions. The turbine should be mounted at least 20ft above nearby structures without being blocked by trees or other tall objects. Please see my other items for tower kits that will work with this product. You may also need to check local ordinances before erecting a turbine on your property.
SAFETY: Your Sunforce 600 Watt Wind Turbine is designed with your personal safety as the first priority. However, there are still some inherent dangers involved with any electrical and/or mechanical equipment. Safety must be the primary concern as you plan the location, installation and operation of the turbine.
