Some fun information about tinted embroidered linens and pillows:
Tinted and/or embroidered pillows, crib covers and other linens were very popular during the 1900's-1950's. The items were purchased as stamped/tinted pieces or in kits with floss and instructions and were then embroidered by the purchaser.
Vogue Needlework, selling Vogue Art Needlecrafts can be dated to around 1930. B. Kugel Company acquired Vogue Needlework in the 40's and items were sold under both Vogart and Vogue Needlecraft. Vogart/Vogue Needlecraft designed for many of the art needlework companies. S. S. Kresge's, Five and Dime Stores changed name to KMart in 1977( older catalogs show pillows sold with JBK marking).
