We went to Polihale Beach on our first day in Kauai. We were a little concerned about the dirt road leading to the beach as we heard it was hard to get through. So we went to the beach. The day we went, it was a bit cloudy, so that was disappointing, but the views were still great and it's a beautiful beach. It's also HUGE. It's 17 miles long, so you can find a spot that you can have to yourself. My husband and I saw one other person - a surfer - he was so far away, he looked like a tiny little speck. Other than that, we were alone on the beach. It was December, so the water was really rough and we did not even attempt to get in. This is a great beach if you just want to lay around and have some privacy.
Most beautiful spot Dont recommend for elderly, a lot of steps but for everyone else so worth it I recommend this place and old man caves to everyone My kids love it here and so do the adults We went in early march, and the ice formations were amazing, especially the waterfall. Careful, large falling icicles would probably hurt alot should you be standing under them. Overall, a nice, flat hike to the bottom of the cave, good view from the top!
