Frank Slaughter young surgeon books: A Savage Place + A Touch of Glory Frank Slaughter was born in D.C., graduated magna cum laude from Duke University at age 18 and then from Johns Hopkins Medical School at 22. A specialist in surgery, Dr. Slaughter retired from active practice in 1946 to write full-time. These books are still very serviceable and readable, but in quite antiquated condition as is expected for books hailing from 1964. Here are the details: 1) A Savage Place -- A novel of what happened when a brilliant young surgeon returned to his old home town. Hardback, has much of the bookjacket intact but not in good shape. 248 pages 2) A Touch of Glory -- The exciting novel of a young surgeon's fight against medical racketeering. Paperback, much better condition, very readable. 394 pages |
