Storey Communications, 1988. First edition thus of the rare 1910 original edition. Illustrated with 64 mostly full-color and some B&W reproductions of the British golf courses painted by Harry Rountree. Index. 253 pages. Hardcover in dust jacket. VERY FINE CONDITION with minor shelf-rubbing to jacket. No jacket chipping or tearing. Clean, neat and no writing. I will cover the book jacket with a mylar book jacket protector at no charge to the buyer before mailing.

Bernard Darwin's The Golf Course of the British Isles is a classic golf history like no other. Considered one of the finest golf writers of all time, Darwin takes the reader on an unforgettable journey through the championship golf courses of Scotland, England, Ireland, and Wales. Accompanied by Harry Rountree's  superb watercolor illustrations (note: Rountree was misspelled Rowntree on the original book jacket, as well as the word Fascimile).

This facsimile edition is a golfer's delight. The original 1910 edition is now a very scarce book, sometimes found on the open market and at a considerable price.

Very handsomely bound in dark green cloth with gilt lettering on spine and cover. Original full-color, book publisher's 11x14 inches advertising poster laid in, and in mint condition.
