Christmas morn, just as everybody with glad cries approaches the gift-burdened Christmas tree, and just
as a fuse, burdened with yule electricity, decides the devil with so much juice. For another thing, Mrs. K.
evidently has a new fuse, whereas it is written in the law of averages that the fuses in her carton should
all be dead soldiers, placed there to be chucked out after Christmas, when there is more time. The
unlucky person in this situation is AMOS SEWELL; if that flashlight battery had been dead, he could just
have painted a black oblong, an eye-catching cover indeed.
