![]() Eddie Breen is my 'brush-name'. Taking flea market and yard-sale paintings that I consider 'incomplete', I spiff 'em up by adding elements which will invigorate the works. Several years ago I toiled away in utter obscurity - yet - today I am perhaps one of the most prolific and well known painters today in the genre I call 'piggyback art'. I take standard themes of god, demons, ministers, nuns, aliens, flame people, skull ladies and sex, and tweak them. I've sold paintings to collectors all over the United States and Europe. Articles about my art have appeared in major US newspapers and magazines as well as internationally in Vogue Italia, The Guardian and Lufthansa in-flight magazine(weird!). My art is collected by a Texas rancher, government workers, teachers, more than a few lawyers, a McMurdo station worker(Antarctic), movie producer, ad agency guys, housewives, artists and lots of other off-kilter individuals it gratifies me to know are out there. And many of these people haven't stopped at one, some buying as many as 30 paintings over the years. If you want to know more about who I am, go to my ABOUT ME page, or just do an internet search on my name. I fingerprint my art with ink so there is no doubt who painted it in future years. After I'm dead, instead of checking with some snotty art authority on whether your breen is authentic or not, just scan the fingerprint, and send it off to the FBI! They'll tell you - yeah that's the guy all right! PREBREEN ![]() Text on this one says 'Robert Frost's Head is Preserved InAmber!' Also, The Amber's lovely dark and deep, My DNA intact to keep, Till Resurrection do I sleep, Till Resurrection do I sleep! Mrs. Breen made a trip to the Maine junk stores a couple of days ago and picked up this nifty Robert Frost portrait. That night I had a rare breen dream in which I saw R Frost's head in amber. I have mangled my favorite Frost poem, 'Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,' more than once - but this time I pulled in the poet as well. He's better off in amber anyway, where he can watch hundreds of millions of snowy evenings. POSTBREEN ![]() Copyright 2012© by Eddie Breen, at least the part I did.
