This is a lot of history and biography books for children, various reading levels for ages 6-12, most for ages 7-10, age ranges noted below. All are illustrated, mostly in color - the few with only black and white are noted below. Titles, authors, page numbers, and descriptions are given below. All are softcovers. Books are mostly brand new, but a few are like new or very good with light or very light cover or corner wear, none previously owned, pages perfect in all.

We're Writing the Constitution, by Jean Fritz, an excellent children's history writer, history for ages 8-12, 64p with illustrations by Caldecott award winner Tomie dePaola.From School Library Journal: An informative, interesting, and immensely readable account of the Constitutional Convention of 1787...Fritz' ability to simplify without condescending makes this an excellent choice for introducing young readers to the complexities of the constitution.

Juan Ponce de Leon Searches for the Fountain of Youth in the Exploring the World series, by Ann Heinrichs, published by Capstone Press, ages 7-11 approx., a large color illustration on every page (mostly reproductions of period art, photographs of artifacts and places) with about a paragraph of simply written text, 48p indexed. This is a biography of the Spanish explorer who first came to the New World with Columbus, went on to become governer of Puerto Rico, and later came to Florida looking for the Fountain of Youth.
