DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSIS/SELLER GUIDELINES               © AP6.0

For your bidding consideration and collecting/reading pleasure is a large format hardcover with dust jacket FIRST EDITION of "THE BEAUTIFUL NORTHWEST" subtitled "A Sunset Pictorial" by Dorothy Krell published by Lane Magazine and Book Company, 1970.  Dust jacket is moderately rubbed and lightly bumped at the extremities; lightly frayed at the extremities; otherwise, dust jacket is in good plus condition.  Pictorial hardcover (hardcover pictorial is identical to dust jacket photographs by DAVID MUENCH) is faintly rubbed and very faintly bumped at the extremities; page edges are faintly browning from age and dust; otherwise, hardcover is in very good condition. 255 pages profusely illustrated with black and white and color photographs by various photographers.  Size:  9" x 11 1/4".  Item photo is actual item photograph. No reserve.

THE BEAUTIFUL NORTHWEST...(From the dust jacket flaps): In this book you will explore a land as filled with scenic surprises as any in the world.  Awesome mountain ranges; untold numbers of lakes, rivers, and marine waterways; quiet, picturesque farmlands; lush rain forests and vast wildnerness timberlands...all of the extremes between thundering ocean waves and gentle, wind-rustled plains are found within a few hours' drive of each other in this fascinating corner of America.  The more than 350 photographs in this book were selected from many thousands that were submitted by practically every highly skilled photographer in the West.  Most are shown here for the first time, and were selected not only for their pictorial composition and technical excellence, but also for their freshness and originality.  Thus, they present for you a new view of each individual place, and with it a greater appreciation of its beauty---even if you have visited the area before.  To create a comprehensive portrayal of this scenically varied country, the editors divided the area into eight regions, bordered by the Vancouver area and Jasper National Park in the north, the Pacific Coast in the West, the California and Nevada lines in the south, and the Rocky Mountains in the east.  In each region, they have pictured both the outstanding and the characteristic features of the natural land---and its manmade attractions as well.  A special effort was made to bring you, by means of photographic closeup studies, phenomena of unusual interest in the Northwest.  And each of the captions contains an abundance of information that will interest you, whether you are using this book as an easy-chair journey of discovery, or as an actual guide in your travels.  The craftsmanship that went into the preparation of this book and the printing of its pictures will be apparent as you thumb through its pages.  And this is lasting value:  THE BEAUTIFUL NORTHWEST will remain a beautiful volume in your library; a book that you, your family, and your guests will enjoy over and over again through the years;----------------------------DUST JACKET AND HARDCOVER PHOTOGRAPHS:  Mt Rainier Washington photograph on the front of the dust jacket and front hardcover board; Bandon Beach Oregon photograph on the back of the dust jacket and back hardcover board; both photographs by DAVID MUENCH;---------------------------------------------ITEM LOCATION:  8-Q
