VINTAGE HALFBAIL HALF BAIL MITCHELL SPINNING REEL WITH BOX NONE NICER WITH SPOOL 

up for bids is probably one of the nicer halfbails you will find. i bought this reel in a group of reels from an ebayer on the european ebay in italy. the reel looks new and works the same. i,m not sure the box is correct, from the boxes i,ve looked at it looks correct. look at the pics,do your research and make up your own mind. i put the best pics i could in the listing so please look at pics reel gud before you bid. i have room for two more pics so if anyone wants to look at another area let me know.

this reel was made between 1946 & 1949. mitchell started putting numbers on these reels in 1949 on the back of the housing. no numbers on this reel anywhere. notice the marks on the spools that look like roman numerials, these were identifing marks for the deep and shallow spool. if the correct drag knob was on the spool and the spool was full of line you could tell which spool you had. this only lasted a couple of yrs.
