Bought this tablet new, directly from Wacom, in Jan 2004, for $309.99. I used it intermittently for about 1 year with Photoshop and Illustrator. It has been stored in its original box since then. It has not been dropped, thrown at a wall or abused in any way. The tablet and the pen still look virtually new. All drivers and software are included. This is a relatively large size tablet, and it has lots of features. The pen has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, to allow very delicate control of your line thickness, etc. It is compatible with a Mac or PC, and uses a USB connection.

It worked fine when I put it away in 2006; it still worked fine when I tested it about a month ago. All of the original equipment is still there in the original box, with 2 exceptions: (1) The original transparent overlay became shop worn so I replaced it, but the replacement has been misplaced. I have included several transparent sheet covers which ought to work ok for tracing.   (2) The 2D mouse that originally came with the tablet has been discarded – it became obsolete not long after I bought it, and I upgraded to a much better mouse. My current Logitech super-dooper wireless, many-buttoned mouse worked fine with the tablet. Any standard mouse should work fine.

My guess is that the newest tablets have more whiz-bang features, but this one could give you lots of good, basic service in Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Illustrator, or any image-editing or drawing program, for lots less than the price of a new unit.
