Chewing tobacco/Chewbacca. The sounds and spellings of these words are so similar that they've always reminded me of each other for as long as I can remember (not that I think of either on a really regular basis). One morning I finally figured out how to show the connection that these two things always had for me. I went out and purchased the cheapest container of snuff the convenience store had.  Approximately 8 hours later, I was able to post images of the piece on my blog, Bent Objects, and he made his way around the internet via popular linking sites in short order. Craftzine, Holy Kaw, Neatorama, Laughing Squid, and many more).

I would suggest purchasing a nice glass cover that one sees protecting curiosities to keep him safe, and to bring even more attention to him. Is it art? I'd say yes, of a sort, but no matter what people think of him, you can bet he'll be a great oddity and conversation piece (unless your visitors have chewing tobacco Star Wars character art of their own, of course).

Chewbacco
was created on October 17, 2011. The piece is just a little over 4 inches tall. The base is the container that the tobacco that the rest of came from. The tobacco (a no longer scented wintergreen flavor) was layered onto a wire armature using the acrylic medium. His belt is made from two different adhesive tapes, and glued to the figure. The wire armature is well connected to the base itself.

Bids of under one million dollars are somewhat insulting, but will still be welcomed. Cheers.
