70 Amp Low Voltage Drop Stud Diode

This diode is 70 amps and 200 volts with a voltage drop of .35 volts WOW!

Just found this diode and what a low voltage drop!! I figure I would share them with other green energy folks. This is now the best diode I have tested out of hundreds!!!

This diode also has a very high amperage and voltage rating with a respectively low price making it perfect for many many applicationAlso with all diodes, the cooler you can keep them the more efficient they are (the more power gets through).

So with that said I mounted all of my diodes in the Aluminum frame of the solar panel as this acts as a very big heat sink.

JUST AN FYI

I made 312  96 watt solar panels for my array for a total of just shy of 30 KWs using 40 3x6 micro wire cells with a 6 amp max output. I first just had the diodes in line with no heat sink. Then I mounted the diodes in the Aluminum frame of the panel. With over 300 panels in my array I saw over a 300 watt increase in the output just by adding a heat sink to the diodes!! Yes it’s only 1 watt per panel but over the life of the array this will turn into many KWs

Little things like a heat sink for your diode will add up to allot of power over time!!

The same thing with my main buss wires. When I desingned my solar array I was going to use 10 ga. wire to conect 4 of my 96 watt panels just under 100 feet away (well the longest run is 92 feet and the shortest is 67 feet) to my grid tie inverters. The dc wire chart showed I was in good shape, Well under the 5% recomended but when I installed it I found that 3 panels per 10ga. wire gave me almost 10 watts more at max output.

Now that my array is done with all the little things I did I spent about $1000.00 more but I'm getting almost 1.5kw more out of my array. This was money well spent as the pay back is about 26 months.
