This incredible volume has provenance stating it was used in the Civil War. A handwritten taped in note reads "This book passed through the Civil War in actual service in the 105th Illinois Vol. Infantry." There is also a handwritten donation notice reading "Donated by Mrs J. W. Dickenson, Bonner Spgs Kansas. Book and instruments we used by Dr. Wm. F. Miller, Quincy, Ill. 105th Ill Vol. Infty during the Civil War." The book shows heavy wear, and the pages have dirt and water damage. |
