From NANA"s DRAWERS~~ Provenance being as over rated as it is, let me give you the 'provenance' of these figurines. I made them. They are from a now discontinued mold that was made to recreate the original porcelain dolls that these were commonly collected as, about a century ago. They were apparently made to sit on the piano, hence the name piano figurines was derived. I made these for myself just before I left Jersey in 91. They were precious. I gave the molds to my best friend. A year later, out here in Maui, I realized the whoops I did and tried to reclaim them. Oh she said I could have 'em back if I could find them. (the operative words being 'could and find') So feeling very uncomfortable going through her mold closets, I gave up knowing they really were not her bag anyhow, but my loss. You know it's hard to invade a friends personal space, even if I was looking for something of mine. So..... never to be seen, I kept these close to my heart. Now as I am trying to raise funds for a move, I have to make 'choices'. So I chose. These are as fine and perfect as I ever made. In fact, this line of my figurines originally was carried by several stores in the tri state area of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Each feature you see on these babies was an individual attachment, which required that certain skill only a craftsman could provide. The heads and limbs all were put on individually. So out there, no two pairs will ever be identical. They are about 6 or 7 inches tall. You snooze..... you LOSE!. Opening bid 49.99, with shipping $14.50. International, always inquire first.
