If you're checking out this Holmes egg shaped air purifier, you're probably interested because of one of these factors: it's small, has a permanent HEPA-type filter, and is awesomely cute but also techie. And I think those are its selling points. It's great for a small to medium sized room and can move a decent amount of air when the fan is set at the highest setting. The lowest setting is more for air maintenance after you've ran it on high for a while or for tight living quarters. It's quite quiet on low, but you should keep it somewhat in close proximity for that clean air so you’ll definitely still hear it (or perhaps it won’t be a bother for some people since some prefer that white noise static type sound in the background; I can sleep fine with it set on 1 or 2 for what it’s worth… but I’ve slept through my share of alarms so…). Also a note on how it is indeed small and can blend well into your room (but location does matter for smaller air purifiers); however, it’s not so small that it can be a desktop air purifier, unless you have a gigantic desk. The HEPA-type filter is for sure another selling point since this is the main purifying element. It’s rated at 99% so it does an acceptable job for most (a True HEPA filter hits 99.97%). It’s “permanent” so you would be using a vacuum on it every few months, but note that “permanent” doesn’t really mean permanent and you would eventually still need to replace these guys (there might not be many replacement choices out there too given that the filter is round). There’s also an ionizer feature if you believe that would help your air cleaning, but there is no odour removing feature in the form of an activated carbon filter. Note though, I buy large sheets of carbon filter and cut them to size and it works great (for this purifier and many others). It’s a cheap and flexible solution. Thanks to an Amazon reviewer for that tip. And finally, it does look great in any room. You have of course seen the common form factor of air purifiers so I’m sure I don’t need to hard sell this point. It’s slick and hip, and I wouldn’t have been surprised if I was told it was a Dyson or some other fancy branded gadget (a Holmes isn’t actually bad either since air purifiers is their thing). It has cool blue indicator lights and also a matching blue ring night light at the bottom of it. Brightness is about just right as far as night lights go. This little egg air purifier could definitely be a bit smaller (or bigger) for some and it can of course be more quiet and move more air than it does. But at this price point, I think it’s a very balanced product. It’s just right for me. Bid it out, friends. EXTRAS: it’s also marketed as the BIONAIRE BAP600 and NUK has a version of this geared towards parents of babies/children (amber light instead of blue, child-resistant plug, white noise).Read full review

For the price this thing is I’m SHOCKED!! got this thing to put in my room because I have horrible allergens mainly being dust, and pollen. This thing has changed my life now!!! It’s not loud at all. I usually sleep with a fan in room on 2 out of 3. When I plugged this bad boy in I cranked it to 3 right out the box!! 😂 it’s not even as loud as my small fan on 2. This thing is a MUSTTT BUY!!
