Testing for the NRC rating was done by the Reverb Room (ASTM C423)

A foam's absorptive effectiveness is determined by its NRC (Noise reduction coefficient): A single number rating system used to compare the sound-absorbing characteristics of soundproofing materials.

PYRAMID FOAM
Pyramid foam
performs about 25% LESS than Wedge foam because it has less foam mass.

WARNING!
Some ebayers are selling bed top & packaging foam! It's cheap and doesn't work. Always look for an NRC! If a foam isn't rated it most likely has little to no sound absorption capabilities.

Do your colors fade / are they painted on?
ALL of our foam colors have a strong resistance to fading. Also, the color is the actual color of the foam, and is NOT spray painted on the foam.

Do you offer QUANTITY DISCOUNTS?
Yes, you can purchase as many specials as you need at the same low price!
If your purchase is over $200 please contact us for more discounts!

Why are your prices so low & do you manufacture it?
The reason why our prices are so low is that we receive large blocks of foam, and cut them at our location. There is no middle man, so you get factory direct pricing. In fact, we supply to many music stores around the nation. But instead of going to a store to pay big bucks, you can buy from us - with huge savings as a direct result of our buying power.

Is the fire retardant specification above sufficient for my application?
We cannot answer this question for you, because building / fire codes very from place to place. Please check locally about building and fire codes before installation, especially for public buildings such as hospitals.

How does California 117 Flame retardant compare to UL94HF1 or MVSS302?
Actually, it is tougher to pass California 117 than UL94HF1 or MVSS302. In addition to the Cal 117 test, our acoustical foam has been tested by the ASTM E 84 standard. Test results show that our acoustical foam meets Class A criteria. ASTM E 84 is the technical equivalent of NFPA No. 255 and UL No. 723.

What is your return policy?
If necessary, you may return the foam back to us. You will have to pay for all return shipping charges, and a 25% restocking fee. The foam must be returned in factory condition, and no later than 14 days after receiving the foam.

How do I install the foam?
We suggest spray adhesive for most applications (spray adhesive is available from us for purchase). When using spray adhesive in a temporary use application, apply a light amount of adhesive on just the foam. For permanent use, apply the adhesive to both the back of the foam, and the mounting surface. For maximum hold, wait for the adhesive surface to become tacky before installation. Lastly, to cut the foam, you may use a sharp carving knife or electric knife.

What should I get?
1" Wedge Foam: Suggested for mid and high frequency ranges, and areas that require decent sound control
2" Wedge Foam: Suggested for most applications, and most small to medium sized rooms. 2" is very effective against standing waves and flutter echoes.
3" Wedge Foam: Suggested for all frequency ranges, and any size area.
4" Wedge Foam: Suggested for low frequency ranges, and medium to large areas. Best for rooms were maximum absorption is necessary.
Corner Bass Absorbers: Suggested mainly for rooms with bass problems, but is a good all round absorber and can be used in any size room.
Eggcrate Foam: The best cost effective solution, this foam is suggested as an alternative to the 1" & 2" Wedge foam because of its low cost, yet decent sound absorption qualities. Also, due to the manufacturing process, the pattern will not be constant, so installing the eggcrate foam side by side for looks is not advised.
