Solid Brass Dolphin Figurine. roughly 5 inches tall over 1/2 pound of brass. This is a new or contemporary piece of art work that I bought a couple years ago at a large furniture store that was closing out. Figurine is of a dolphin jumping out of the water like they do at Sea World and is standing on its tail riding a wave. There are others on here CLAIMING these are rare 1930's pieces, but they Are NOT. I refuse to lie to people about the age of the items I sell and if they are new or reproductions I will say so. I have collected vintage antiques since childhood when I got my first Arcade Horse Bank and a few other toys from my great grandparents and have grown up collecting old iron toys, and displaying and using vintage tools and equipment at the local antique shows so I do know a little bit about antiques having been around them personally for nearly 50 years. This Brass Dolphin is a Modern piece no matter what any other seller claims them to be. As I said, I bought this NEW just a couple years ago. I forget the exact amount, but I Think the retail cost was around $37.00 or $38.00 dollars. I got it at a close out sale for roughly 1/2 of that, paying $15.00 Plus sales tax or $16.20 total. It doesn't really fit into any of my collections, so I am listing it on here in hopes of passing it on to someone else without losing too much money on it. I am starting it at 2/3rds what I paid, and NO SALES TAX ! It can be used as paperweight or book end, or simply be displayed as a decorative art piece. Would also make a unique hood ornament for a Rat Rod or an early Hot Rod Woody or 2 door sedan delivery with a pair of surf boards strapped to the roof or hanging out the rear window. This weighs in around 10 ounces Plus packaging materials which I am only guessing at up front on the calculated shipping. I don't like to come up short and have to ask for more money before shipping, so I am putting the shipping calculator at the 1-2 pound mark to allow for the weight of a box and padding, and will refund as much as I can after shipping. I do include a small $1.50 S&H fee to help cover some of the materials used, but that barely even covers the amount of tape I use on each package, let alone the other materials used. Some sellers charge an extra $10.00 just to give you a dollars worth of bubble wrap, but I don't play that game. I try to be as fair as I can, but I can't eat all the costs associated with shipping. Selling AS IS based on pictures and description. It is Brand New with just a little dust buildup from setting on my shelf, but I can't control how the Postal Workers handle packages and make No guarantee's. It will be well packaged, and should arrive just fine. Check my feedback and you will find that I tend to over-package most items, and have Never had any problems. with shipping. Payment to be in U.S. Currency through PayPal unless picking up in person. International shipping is available if you're willing to pay the shipping costs which can be quite high in some cases, but this is well under the 4 pound limit for 1st Class International so that is what I will base the calculator on as it is the cheapest, but I will include the Priority International for price comparison. U.S. shipping will be a choice of Parcel post or Priority. The dolphin's tail is too wide to fit in the small flat rate box or I would include that option as well. Thanks For Looking & Happy Bidding! Please also check out my other current and future auctions as I get time to photograph and list more items from 35-40 plus years of collecting and hoarding anything and everything including some other more recent purchases like this. My older toys from my early childhood are Not included though as they have too much sentimental value to me. |
