The costume is faithfully reproduced to the most minute detail including the silvery "ironing board" cotton fabric with painted brown details, brown vinyl straps on chest & shoulders, & a working metal zipper up the front, along with a pair of brown vinyl "oven mitt" gloves, & brown vinyl astronaut boots with real working metal zippers!
Barbie's astronaut helmet has a clear vinyl face shield. A tiny woven fabric American flag on a red plastic pole completes this awesome set that predated Americans Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin, who made their historical lunar landing on July 20th, 1969, dude!
As with many of Mattel's reproduction vintage Japan Barbie costumes, this ensemble is wonderfully reproduced by the original maker of Barbie & her fabulous working girl wardrobe!
