Assault covers the organizations, weapons and vehicles for six different countries
– France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the U.S.S.R, and the U.S.A. The squads
and their weapons have unique capabilities like their historical counterparts.
The soldiers can be standing, crouching, or prone, and each posture affects
their vulnerability and lines of sight. Depending on the detail you favor, there are rules covering
hidden movement, weapon reliability, snipers, morale, individual personal
characteristics, leadership, wounds, fires, melees, climbing, jumping, blast
effects, cavalry, bicycles, anti-tank guns, grenades, and more.”

Assault addresses the challenges of squad level tactics in an era of
massive firepower – the problems of command and control, and of integrating
different weapons into effective tactical combinations. You may know everything that’s going on, but the game’s ‘soldiers’
may not, and often react accordingly. ‘Random sequencing’ mechanics simulate simultaneous
movement, the fog of war, and combat friction without the bother of written
orders. The excitement and interest levels high, with victory going to the
player can best perform in an impossible environment. “
