Description
A stunning Kosta Boda Ice Age sculpture that doubles as a tea-light holder. This is a big glass sculpture measuring 19cm in height. I’m not surprised this piece is Kosta Boda- most of Kosta Boda’s work is exceptional and this piece does stand out. It’s simple enough in concept and design but this is what makes it so inspiring. We have one exactly like this in our collection at home. Due to the number of items coming into iNVISeDGE every week, very few of our finds can make our collection- one in this design snuck in a year ago. An indicator of good design is that it should speak to you in the first instance but then draw you in further over time. If it doesn’t, it’s just a flash in the pan. For me this one has become more inspiring over time.
Designed by Kjell Engman, the Ice Age Votive is now retired. In the future I see no reason why these sculptures won’t slowly increase in value as you get to enjoy it. Kjell Engman’s work is iconic, Kosta Boda’s work is iconic and this piece is a symbol of everything Kosta Boda has been over the last 250 years. Kosta Boda are at the forefront of glass- their work will always be held in high-esteem and always sought-after, particularly here in Australia where an item like this would cost at least $65 in postage alone to get from America (and pretty much the same from Sweden). Kosta Boda glass is a great investment- at the least it tends to hold its value over time. After the others have been thrown out, this glass sculpture will be passed onto someone else to enjoy. There are very few better ways to invest in your home and in our environment.
Condition and Dimensions
This vintage piece is in great condition for its age with no noticeable condition flaws to report at all. NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs- it presents really well. The piece has a Kosta Boda sticker and an acid etch to the bottom of the base (not photographed but certainly there). This sculpture has a height of 19cm with a length of 12.4cm. This is your guarantee that I strive to describe all my items as accurately as I can and I will not stock items unless they are in excellent condition.
Delivery and Pick-Up Information
Pick-up from Windsor, 3km North of BRISBANE is more than welcome. POSTAGE is offered internationally. Below are careful estimates for postages prices. There may be variations to the postage fee after we receive your details (but this is very infrequent and if applicable always minor.)
Throughout Australia (1744g unpacked, 2230g (0.27X0.20X0.18) approx. 2.43 boxed size)- I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SAFELY WRAP THIS UNDER 1kg. ABOUT $14.40 to Brisbane. $19 to Sydney, ABOUT $20 to Melbourne and ABOUT $25 to Perth. This information is offered as an extra service for customers as a GUIDE only. The exact price for freight will be given to the buyer at check-out after the piece has been packed.
International Locations- NOTE THAT PRICES IN THE EBAY POSTAGE CALCULATOR FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS ARE FOR AIR MAIL with no insurance (delivery in 7-14 days). (Insurance can be added for a small extra fee- normally about $11.) You can obtain cheaper freight to Australia by requesting SURFACE MAIL (by SEA- delivery in 18 to 100 days). Just ask at the time of check-out BEFORE YOU PAY.
The above price includes $3.05 for registered post (insurance against being lost and for being broken for the first $100). Should you wish cover above the value of $100 Australia Post charges an additional $1.45 for packages up to $200 and then $1.45 for each $100 thereafter.
A charge of $3.00 is also included in the fee above to cover the cost of packing materials and searching for appropriate packing materials. With the millions of cardboard boxes that end up as land-fill every year we don’t believe in supporting the manufacture of boxes for post. Therefore we spend considerable time sourcing boxes and then fashioning boxes to fit each item. The $3.00 does little to pay for the time needed do this and to pack it (there is also the time needed to bike the package up to the post office). This is something we’re happy to do for our customers and the environment. We appreciate your support in this area.
Payment
Our preferred payment option is DIRECT BANK DEPOSIT, not Paypal. Thanks.
