Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 Pro DX AF Lens for Canon nearly MINT

You are bidding on a Very Nice Condition, Functionally Flawless Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 Pro DX AF Lens for Canon EOS Cameras.

I have had the lens since 04/04/2011 and I have used the lens in a professional photo setting.  This lens has been on my camera about half th time since I have had it, and it has really yielded some great images.  If you are looking into one of these, I am sure you have read the reviews.  It is one of the best rated and sharpest wide angle lenses out there.  I do mostly Canon EOS video, and this has been great for landscape, architecture, concert wide shots, and establishment shots.

Another great thing about this lens is the 2.8 aperture and the great bokeh you can get when you take wide angle close ups!  Great blurry backgrounds with this one.

I take really good care of my equipment.  I have really babied this lens.  Anytime I am not handling the camera/lens, it has been stowed safely inside a Pelican Case.  In spite of this, there is one slight cosmetic problem with the lens that prevents me from calling it "MINT."  It has some small abrasions on the edge of the zoom ring and on and around the "DX" right above the zoom ring.  I cannot for thr life of me remember when such damage would have taken place, as I know I have never dropped this lens.  I had a hard time picking up the damage on a photo, but you can see it in the last tow photos below.  Nevertheless, the damage is only cosmetic and the lens works great.

The lens is an EF-S lens, it is designed for APS-C sensor cameras such as the Canon 7D, 60D, T3im and T2i, etc.  It is reported that the lens will actually function on a full frame camera such as the 5D Mark II and will not hit the mirror.  It is true that Canon made EF-S lenses will hit the mirror and damage full frame cameras, but the EF-S lenses made by Tokina do not protrude as far into the camera, thus preventing damage.  My understanding is that the only disadvantage of this lens on a full frame camera is that it has some vignetting at the wider settings, but that the vignetting disappears at about 14 or 15mm.  In essence, on a full frame camera, you can get basically a 8-11mm wide lens that is very sharp for a great price.

Saying that, I am selling this lens so that I can afford to buy a 5D Mark II.  If I did not need the money, I would keep this lens in a heartbeat.

The lens was bought at Kenmore Camera on 4/4/11, so it has 2 years 3 monthgs left on the warranty if you have any problems.  I will send original reciept as well as the warranty card.  It will also have the original box and hood.  I have a 100% feedback rating and I plan to keep it.  Thanks for looking.
