In 2011 the theme
for the flagship Topps baseball set was diamonds. With 2012 Topps Baseball,
expect to see lots of gold. From parallels to inserts to the continuation and
expansion of the popular code redemptions, gold is the thread that runs
throughout. Hobby boxes promise either an autograph or relic card. Jumbo HTA
boxes have one autograph and two relic cards. One of these relics isn't a
game-used piece but rather a manufactured relic card featuring pins, rings or
real gold. 2012 Topps Series 1 Baseball follows the familiar format of a
330-card base set that includes 265 veterans, 30 rookies and 35 cards for
league leaders, award winners and highlights.
2012 Topps Series 1 Baseball Product Highlights:
330-card base set (265 veterans, 30 rookies, 10 league leaders, six award winners, five Record Breakers, four World Series Highlights, ten active stat leaders).

Retired Rings (25 cards) feature a ring element built into the card. The set spotlights numbers that have been retired.
Gold World Series Champion Pin Cards (20 cards) are like manufactured patch cards but with pins. As the name suggests, the checklist includes only World Champions.
Golden Moments 24k Gold Leaf Cards (20 cards, /5) parallel the Golden Moments insert with foil that is made of actual gold.
Golden Giveaway Code Cards
Golden Giveaway Codes (1:6) are similar to the Diamond and Million Card Giveaway codes Topps used in 2010 and 2011. Every code is a potential winner.
Golden Moment Die-Cut Chrome Cards (100 cards) highlight the featured player's greatest achievement. Parallel: Gold (/99), Truly Golden (/1, to be bid on with Gold Team Coins).
Truly Golden Moments Base Set Parallel (330 cards, /1) embed real gold into the card.
Gold Team Coins are available in five denominations for each team. Collectors will be able to use these coins to bid on items and prizes.
Autographed Gold Coin Cards (10 cards, /5) will see the coins actually made and put on a card, autographed by a player on the featured team.
2012 Topps Series 1 Baseball Gold Rush Wrapper Redemption Details
Collectors who send in 50 hobby wrappers or 14 jumbo wrappers will receive a pack of five exclusive 2012 Topps Series 1 Baseball Gold Rush cards.
Set has 50 total cards.
Autographs randomly inserted. Signers include Albert Pujols, Sandy Koufax, Willie Mays, Adrian Gonzalez, Albert Belle, Nelson Cruz and Dennis Eckersley.
For faster service, collectors are encouraged to bundle sets of wrappers. This can be done with a rubber band. Topps is also encouraging collectors to send all wrappers in one package.
Redemption program only open for the month of February, 2012. All requests must be postmarked by February 29th.
