DESCRIPTION: Vintage photograph, shows two young women, top is "Marge", bottom we believe is Miss Alderfer, in a back yard of a house, laundry on the clothesline, Allentown, Pennsylvania, 1945.
From a collection of photographs we believe was put together by a woman named Alderfer, all circa 1940s wartime era. There are some photographs taken from the rooftop of a building we believe was located at E. 91st. Street in New York City, near the corner of 1st Ave. on the Upper East Side. This is possibly where they lived in Manhattan. There are also photos of people standing in front of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on West 65th Street at Central Park West. There are also many photographs taken in Central Park, Staten Island, Bronx, Jones Beach, Stroudsburg Pennsylvania, and Allentown PA. Information about each of these photos is taken from writing on the back, or writing in a photo album, and is reliable but not guaranteed.
