Melatonin
is produced by the body at night ot help regulate
our sleep cycles, however our bodies make progressively
less of it as we age. People often think they need
less sleep as they get older, when the reality is
they can't get enough sleep because their melatonin
production is low. It is often used to aid cases
of insomnia, and seems particularly effective at
coping with jet lag.

How does melatonin work for jet
lag?
Melatonin works by resetting your body's biological
clock. When traveling across several time zones,
your biological clock gets "out of sync"
with the daily light/dark cycle of the new time
zone. Normally, it takes several days for your body
to adjust ( i.e. jet lag). When you take Melatonin
at bedtime on your first night in the new time zone,
you reset your biological clock to match that time
zone. Thus, jet lag is prevented.
Is
all commercially available Melatonin the same?
No. Emerald Labs is one of the few U.S. manufacturers
of pure, pharmaceutical grade Melatonin with greater
than 99.5% purity. We make our Melatonin from scratch
using a proprietary manufacturing process which
utilizes no plant or animal products.
