This is a heavy, good quality cotton bolster in great vintage condition with no holes or stains. It makes that lovely rustling noise you get from good quality heavy weave cotton.
The charming embroidery at each end of the bolster is machine stitched and adds a fresh quality to the item overall and there is a very sweet pulled thread detail too. The fabric is strong and thick but has started to take on that wonderful softness which comes with age and is a snowy white colour.
The bolster is open ended and it could be cut up to make two pillowcases I guess if you didn't want to use it as a single item.
Bolster measures 66 x 19 inches in full.
I hand wash all the items in soap flakes and use old fashioned remedies like vinegar to brighten the fabric (for environmental and restoration reasons) so they are all clean and smell quite nostalgic! Don't worry though..they don't smell of vinegar!
