$5 Gold American Eagle Coin Set in 10K Yellow Gold Nugget Ring  

This auction is for a 10K yellow gold nugget ring. Set inside this ring is a $5 American Eagle gold coin.  The total weight of this ring is 9.1 grams.  The American Eagle coin is 1/10th ounce 22K gold, diameter of 16.5mm, a thickness of 1.26mm, a total weight of 0.1091 troy ounces (3.393 grams)

As you view all of the photos, you can see that this ring is "well worn". We believe this ring was minted in 1986. However, we are not positive. What leads us to believe this date is through a jewelers loupe, you can barely make out (XXVI) on the right of the coin. These particular coins were first minted in 1986. However, from 1986-1991, the coins' dates were in Roman Numerals. 1986 = MCMLXXXVI

As you can see in the photos, the back of the coin is legible. There is some impairment from the prongs in the setting. There is also some sort of nick in the top...near the tip of the eagle's wing.
