With an 8-track recording capability, you can easily record live performances, rehearsals and the likefrom almost any setting in the Zoom R16 recorder. To offer an incredible sound quality, this Zoom digital multi track duplicator features a 24-bit/96kHz encoding mechanism with direct connectivity to the computer. The DAW software for transport and mixing is supported by this Zoom recorder. If you want up to 16 tracks of simultaneous recording, you can do so by syncing two of the Zoom R16 recorder. The built-in stereo microphones in this Zoom digital multi track duplicator can capture vocals and instruments in incredible quality. For a noise-free operation, this Zoom recorder supports 32 GB SDHC cards that works silently unlike tape or discs.

While some multitrack recorder die hards simply refuse to connect any instrument they own to any of these newfangled "computers" that everyone talks about, the Zoom R16 looks to remedy this. This new multitrack can handle up to eight simultaneous tracks, and it's loaded with features that take computer connectivity to a new extreme. For one, if you don't want to record to SD, as is possible with this unit, just hook it up and use it as an interface. It also acts as a control surface once you've got your tracks tracked and transferred.
