Up for auction is this fine handcrafted wood Bowl.  It reflects light almost as though it were a mirror.  Measuring 5 & 3/8" x 2 & 7/8", it has been made from a reclaimed Florida Camphor Tree.

Despite the fact that it is in the shape of a bowl, the utility of a piece such as this becomes secondary as collectors will recognize that it is the beauty of the wood (that is the first and foremost characteristic) which makes this piece so very lovely.  Though very lightweight and appearing to be delicate, the bowl is actually very sturdy.  You may wash it with a mild dish detergent followed by a towel dry.

You may give this bowl to someone as a unique and elegant gift.  Or, you may find it hard to part with and so decide to keep it for your own collection of fine wood artwork.

Peace.

Some facts about the Camphor Tree:

The Camphor tree is classified as an evergreen tree in the Laurel family.  It was brought to America from Asia in 1875 and then grown on plantation farms for the production of the camphor oil which is harvested from its leaves and bark.  It is found in products like Tiger Balm and Noxema Cream as well.  You might be interested to know that it is the official city tree of Hiroshima, Japan.  After the city was destroyed at the end of WWII, this tree helped bring the city back to life.
