We try to describe our items carefully and completely. Occasionally we do make mistakes, or books may have deteriorated due to handling, shelwear, etc., since we graded them, so please contact us if you're unhappy with your purchase.

Please read this note about shipping times.

Although I live in Canada, in Winnipeg, I make the 150 mile round-trip to Neche, North Dakota, to mail most parcels, every 4-5 working days [more often if sales justify it]. While this might delay your parcel slightly compared to domestic American dealers, this allows me to pass on the savings in postage from USPS, which is a lot cheaper than Canada Post [and faster]. In fact, it is even cheaper to ship books back to Canada from the USA, then it is to ship them in Canada, unless they are very thin!

For our overseas customers, we keep our shipping costs low by using a service called International Priority Air. Parcels shipped like this are shipped to a broker, which takes a few days, in addition to the delay because I live in Canada, then travel by Airmail the rest of the way. All of these factors can add a couple of weeks to delivery time, but I can pass the savings on to you, the customer. Overseas parcels could arrive in as little as 2 weeks, but 3 weeks is normal using this service, and some countries might take 4 weeks or more. If you want your item sent faster [by Global Priority Mail], there is a second option for shipping available, as shipment using these services will be faster, but more expensive [more than double [or more] my regular rates.]. For Canadians, choosing this shipping method will see your books shipped within Canada; otherwise, they will most likely be shipped from the USA. All of our shipping rates include the postage, our costs for handling, and the costs of new packaging materials whenever practical, as well as the fees eBay and Paypal charge on shipping fees. We accept returns within reason, at your own expense, but books ordered under our free shipping policy are usually subject to a restocking fee to recover our costs of packing and shippng the order in the first place. The restocking fee in the US is 3.49 for the first item, 50 cents each additional item.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

J. Grant Thiessen is a Canadian bibliographer and bookseller [Pandora's Books, BookIT Enterprises]. He has worked primarily in the area of science fiction. His bibliographic fanzine, Science Fiction Collector, has been collected into three hardbound volumes from Pandora's Books, and copies of all of the issues are still available from that source.

The most frequently referenced work from these volumes is the guide to the Ace Books sf doubles; books bound dos-a-dos. The non-double sf, fantasy, and horror titles were also listed. This bibliography appeared in the first issue of Science Fiction Collector. Other paperback publishers whose output is documented by Thiessen includes Ballantine Books, Monarch Books, Curtis Books, and Lancer Books. The volumes also contain individual author biographies; authors covered include James H. Schmitz, Jack Williamson, E. C. Tubb, A. E. van Vogt, and Charles L. Harness.

Thiessen also published "The Tanelorn Archives", a bibliography of Michael Moorcock, and has made many contributions to bibliographic reference works, magazines, and price guides, as well as producing several hundred book catalogs.

He was born in 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He acquired his CMA [Certified Management Accountant] degree in 1973. In 1977, he formally incorporated as Pandora's Books Ltd.

In 1995, Pandora's Books was an early retail entry on the internet, and still operates their website to this day, although under new management since 1999.

He is now a bookseller and software developer, under the company name BookIT Enterprises Inc.
