MARVEL ZOMBIES #3 ZOMBIE WOLVERINE vs. SILVER SURFER ORIGINAL COMIC ART PAGE DPS

These are the original art pages to Marvel Zombies #3, published by Marvel Comics. From the classic first series of Marvel Zombies by brilliant Walking Dead writer Robert Kirkman and artist Sean Phillips, this is the double page spread for pages 6 and 7. It features the memorable scene where Zombie Wolverine slashes at the Silver Surfer, and has the bones of his right arm come out of his skin and decompose! He then uses the adamantium claws from his left arm to chop off what remains of his right arm! So I guess Wolverine's a lefty now? The last two panels have Iron Man (who's only got the upper half of his body left!) telling Wolverine to toss him into the fray so he can use his last repulsor blast on the Surfer. Zombie Fastball Special anyone?

Unlike most double page spreads which are done on 2 regular art boards and then taped together down the middle, this is done on one large board that measures approximately 16 1/2" by 22", which is really cool. There's a few crease lines in the board, but I don't think they're too bad, and don't really take away from the overall awesomeness of this piece. For those who haven't seen Phillips' original pieces, he sometimes uses blue pencil in his artwork, which in the large first panel almost seems to give a light wash effect. Just a really incredible piece that's gruesome in all the right ways! This is an amazing piece that would look awesome framed and prominently displayed, and would be a key piece in any collection.
