You are bidding on a VINTAGE LITHO TINWARE ? RETRO EAMES ERA PICTORIAL WINTER CHRISTMAS SCENE COLORAMIC CHRISTMAS TREE STAND with 1+ Gallon Water Reservior. Could be Steel ? It is 100% metal thoughout... No Plastic. Wonderful period piece! It features RURAL AMERICANA SNOWY WINTER Scene including a covered bridge, fence, cottage, man & child w/ dog, axe & cut Christmas tree, snow man, snow covered evergreens, children sleding, people in a sleigh & a barn. This RARE / Uncommon tree stand could be from the 1940s or 50s... not sure which. This Eames Era Xmas tree stand is 6" x 20" with a 4" receiver (That's the only opening so it can't slop or spill. Very clever.) and a water-well capable of holding 1+ gallons. Although it is from the Mid Century or earier, it remains in very good to excellent used condition for it's age, with an occassional, very minor scratch and some expected rubbing to the finish on the underside of the outer rim & around the tree truck hole (See Pics). Note that the underside has little to no very minor corrosion / rust - it's really a painted litho / lithograph finish. This Atomic stand reminds me of going out in the woods as a kid and cutting down our own tree for the holiday season...brings back fond memories. It also reminds me of something you might see in the movie A Christmas Story. You could use this with a live or an artificial tree, or as a base for a homemade floor lamp or Christmas Dinner Table Floral &/or Candle Holder Center Piece or for a plant stand / base. Or include it in a homemade floral arrangement gift for that retro fan in your life. (The last three pictures are not included in this auction. The box in not included.
