I made a picture of every page there is. This book is very rare. Large folio (14 x 10 3/4 inches; 350 x 270mm). 4 chromolithographed three-dimensional peepshow plates. Famous for the Lothar Meggendorfer movable picture books, J. F. Schreiber was one of the world's most successful publishers of novelty children's books and paper toys of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As editor of the journal Jugendblätter, Isabella Braun was one of the best known German children's writers of her generation. She is now almost entirely forgotten. She wrote a short play to go with each elaborate three-dimensional scene.
The book unfortunately is in poor condition (few pages are separated from the spine, some repairs were done during the past (see pictures for details). I showed in pictures every page of the book. The most extensive damage is to the first scenery (see pictures again).....but, please realize....book is over 130 yrs old and God only knows who actually had this book thru all these years and what the book went thru....and now it is here on e-bay!!!!
Extremaly rare piece. You don't see those books often even in the poor condition.
