Sioux City History: 1980-2002
by Marcia Poole
Hardcover, 8 3/4" x 11 1/4", 304 pages, new and in mint condition.
Illustrated throughout with hundreds of rare black-and-white and color photographs.

About the book:

Recognizing the need to document the important events that shaped Sioux City since the work of Scott Sorenson and Blair Chicoine was published, the Sioux City Museum and Historical Association commissioned Marcia Poole, noted Sioux City journalist and writer to bring the history of Sioux City up to date. Poole's history of Sioux City is more than a continuation of the work of Sorenson and Chicoine. She has accurately and thoroughly described and placed into perspective the changes in Sioux City since 1980. Indeed, her work has captured the essence of Sioux City as it faces the challenges of the beginning of the twenty-first century. Poole has covered every aspect of the city's social, political, economic and cultural life. It is an excellent example of a case study of an American city undergoing major cultural, economic and ethnic changes. Her lucid and dynamic account could well serve as a mirror, almost a blueprint, for city plans through the next few decades. Hundreds of black and white and color photos.
