Glass with Sterling Silver Collar Perfume Bottle, London Hallmarks 1905 

Beautiful cut glass perfume bottle with a nice sterling repousse collar hallmarked for London 1905.  The maker mark looks like “RP” in a shield with a dot centered between the two initials.  This appears to be for the firm of Robert Pringle.

With the stopper it is 4-3/4” tall and without the stopper it stands 3-1/4”.   The glass is about 3-1/4” thick with a circumference of 9-3/4”.  The pattern on the glass is approximately ½” squares alternating with an oval and a group of small “x’s”.  The sterling collar has repousse leaves and then is smooth on the neck.   The weight before packing is just over 8 oz.

The cut glass prism stopper has some tiny chips and flea bites on the bottom but the top that shows looks very nice.  This stopper may be newer than the bottle and might have replaced the original.

The cut glass in the bottle has a couple of points that have chipped off.  The cutting makes the edges stick out and that makes them susceptible to chipping and flea bites.  I counted just three but there could be one more.   You can only see them with magnification.  The sterling collar is in nice condition with no dents.   Someone used silver paste at one time but I will try to remove all of it before shipping.  The neck has some black spots and scratches that may be removable.
