The Air France Concorde: the very NAME evokes luxury travel at the speed of sound!
The British Airways and Air France Concorde were the first and only supersonic passenger airliners.
Concorde began passenger flights in 1976 and ended in 2003.
It is, was, and always will be an aviation icon.
This bronze/green ashtray is from the estate of a local world traveler of impeccable taste and sophistication.
It is marked "Concord Air France, with the Air France logo on one side.
Curved to hold cigarette ash, it appears unused for that purpose.
It is about 3" x 3" plus, over an inch high at the corners and is heavy!
There is a spot of tarnish--one of the photos has an arrow pointing to it.
Can we talk about rarity?
I have never seen one before, and may never see one again.
This is for Concorde collectors, aviation buffs, Modernists, turn of the century art collectors.
If you ever flew the Air France Concorde, or dreamed of it, this is for you.
