A mass planting of mature lupine plants in bloom is Breathtaking! One of our favorite perennials (they come back every year) here at Casita Azul. Lupine attract butterflies and hummingbirds. They make wonderful cut flowers. Rebloomers if deadheaded. Lupine grow best in cool soil. They tolerate shady locations well, probably because the soil in the shade stays relatively cool. These beauties also grow in full sunshine. If left to naturalize you can expect baby seedlings popping up. Our plants have been over-wintered here in Wisconsin so you can count on some beautiful blooms this year.
